![]() The actual problem in CCC unit it self and why it's not working properly the CID unit (control information display) is not showing the data goes from BMW sign to a blank. ![]() I recently found out a lot of thinks about my 2004 BMW 530i Visited dealer for a computer check paid $80 then they told me I need to replace the whole system unit including CID screen. I have access to AllDataPro and looked throught the wiring diagrams, but I need some help with troubleshooting before I buy any replacement parts or dread, take it to the dealer. I dread having to take this into the dealer to get bent over for an analysis. I'm a DIYer - rebuilt motors, transmissions, etc, so I'm not afraid to tear into anything if someone has any ideas. Otherwise, the car is driving fine.Īnyone have any insight? I'm wondering if a failed DVD or CD drive could be mucking up the system - M-ASK or such. Pulled the CD/DVD/Radio unit from the dash and checked the connections and 20A fuse - all good and tight. Looked inside the white control box under the spare tire - clean. I can hear the NAV DVD spinning on start up and then I hear it now and then, so it is getting power. Did this a couple more times and then the screen remained blank. Got to the BMW screen and it rebooted itself. Started up the car and the system started it's boot sequence.
